Bangkok 😮 . True, whenever anybody hear this name their mouth gets open wide- What!!.

When people tell me they hate Bangkok, I can understand.  When I first went to Bangkok in 2013, I was totally pissed of by the city and couldn’t wait to get out. Outside of shopping and lot of temples, there is nothing much to do. It is not the best city for tourist in the world, it’s crowded, dirty and the nightlife smells. It wasn’t until I lived in the city that I really fell in love with it. Most people just land in the city for one or two days before hopping to Island. Their main motive in Bangkok is “Shopping”.  Bangkok is a city that takes time to enter into the senses of the people visiting it. While you may not need a week here, but still its worth more than a day or two.

When I came here for the 2nd time, previously worst part becomes the reason to love the city-I loved the crowd, nightlife was really outstanding and the people here are really wonderful(hard working and helpful).  It gets so hard into my senses  that when I was returning home, I was weeping and then & there I promised myself that I will be back.

Anyways, here’s how to spend three days and fill your time:

Day-1

The Grand Palace

Start your day from Grand Palace(Royal Place) at 8.30 am and from there head straight to WAT PHO, home to the famous reclining Buddha. Bangkok has a lot of beautiful temples. Hire a tuk-tuk to take you around for the day to see the temples.

Go Shopping

Bangkok is a shopping paradise. After having lunch head straight away for shopping. Bangkok has something or other for every individual. Siam Paragon(for upscale shopping), MBK(for budget shopping) and Siam Discovery(normal priced chain stores).

Don’t go to any pubs at night because you need to wake up early on Day 2.

Day- 2

Damneon Saduk Floating Market

Early morning at 7 am , hop to half day tour to the floating market outside of the city. Believe me it will be a morning adventure and fun. If you head out of the area where the buses drop you off, you will come across the more local part of the market. Moreover, you will find here a variety of cuisines to eat.

Suk Soi 11

Soi 11 is really awesome. Spend the evenings here & you will love it. This indeed is the most happening place in Bangkok and my favourite street in the city. It’s a fantastic place to drink & meet new people. Also, you will find here many Indian Restaurants and Sky Bars(as shown in the picture above).

Day-3

Chatuchak Weekend Market

No need to wake up early because last night it was really tiring. Head straight to Chatuchak Weekend Market. Chatuchak Weekend Market (Jatujak Market) is the largest Market in Thailand and one of the largest weekend market in the world. It spread across 27 acres altogether 15,000 booths selling goods from every part of Thailand. It’s must visit place on weekend. Finish your shopping till 3 pm because still there is lot to do.

Chinatown

Its a must visit place for foodie like me. There are tons of vendors selling amazing and delicious food on the street, I hardly ever see anywhere in the city. This area is famous for delicious sea food at night.

Nana Plaza

Without visiting this place your visit to Bangkok will be incomplete. It will show you clearly why many people are fascinated by Bangkok. So why am I saying to go here? For good or bad, sex is the integral part of Bangkok and walking down this plaza will give you the idea of this industry. To understand a place you need to see it all- the good and bad. These type of place are not my thing but as i love people watching , you cannot find more interesting people than here.

There might not be a lot to do in Bangkok but there more to a city than shopping and temples. Bangkok is best at night. One can explore different kinds of Bars, Night clubs and Night Market. In 3 days you can cover most of the places but in order to know the city you need to stay here till you get to know the best of it.
