Jewel of India- Andaman Island
by
I am an ardent beach lover. So whenever I get time I travel either to Bali or Thailand. But then somebody told me to go The Andaman Island since I am really fond of Islands and pristine blue waters. So I flew to Port Blair. As I was about to land at Port Blair, the view of the landscapes and beaches really took my breathe.
Out of the total 572 islands on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, we are not allowed to visit any of the Nicobar Islands and only around 4-5 islands from the Andaman group of Islands. Hence, it should just be known as the Andaman Islands.
The below are some of the amazing facts:
- You are not allowed to take a photo or video since the whole island is under the regulation of Indian Army.
- You are not allowed to take any kind of stone from here.
- After 3 PM, no flights will fly to and fro the Airport.
- The name of the Airport is after the name of the freedom fighter, Veer Savarkar.
- Still there are Traffic police who manage the traffic signal by giving hand signals.
- If you are sitting in the window seat on a bus, then you have to hold the bags of the other passengers who have boarded the bus with a backpack.
- All the local people are very much helpful.
- Some of the Islands are given on Lease to some private companies.
- Still in 21st Century there is no network, no internet.
- Its only 210 km from Burma and 1 hour by flight to Phuket
