Ideas to travel more with less penny
by
“Travel is cheaper , than living at home”
How to do it and how much fun it is to do?
My Motto- Travel More and More, Create better/ best memories ever.
These days traveling is considered as a luxury for most people. And Why not- media has change the definition of traveling. However, traveling does not necessarily mean spending exorbitant amount of money on expensive airfare and hotel accommodation. There are many budget friendly options which would still allow you to get to your dream destination. So,if you think you can’t afford to travel, think again.
It is not a rocket science , just a brain storming exercise .
“Rupee saved is the rupee earned”, then its better that it is in our pocket than theirs because every penny counts. No need to spent more then what is required. Read the following guide and before you will know it , you will off to the destination you have always planned, still keeping within your budget.
1) Planning
Always plan your trip. Planning not only connote to trip, also your expenses.
2) Travel in a city
Local transport is the best way to commute from one place to another, also helps to know more about the city.
Rent a bike to see the city
- It is much cheaper.
- Log on to Zilok to rent bike from individuals all over the world.
Get Train Passes
- It will reduce your 50% of transport charges.
- Take the unlimited ride’s pass.( Like when i was in Bangkok City I took Rabbit Card)
4) Places to Visit
The most important and imperative part or more precisely the main reason why we travel.
Get Tourism Cards
- Local tourism offices issue cards for the attractions, tours and restaurants.
- Typically valid for 1,3,5/7 days.
- Gives you free entry and substantial discounts on attractions and restaurants.
Free days
- Before you go look at the websites for free days.
Use discount cards
- Eg. VIP card, ISIC etc
- Go on free tours/talk with local tourism offices
- It last for few hours
Book Tours via Student Travel Website
- Best one is STA Travel
- You can book even you are not a student.
5) Chat with locals
It will be win-win situation for both of you. Sometimes they only will show you the city, like it happened with us in Bangkok. Moreover, some people think that its not safe to be with the local but I will say that is the best way to see the city.
6) Flight bookings
Flight is the major component of expense when we travel.
Q) How to book cheap flights?
- Be flexible with travel dates.
- Don’t travel before any holiday.
- Always try to avail the tickets when they are on sale.
Recommended Search Sites
- Sky Scanner – What you need to do just log on to the website and In From – Put any place and In To- everywhere then see what happens , it will show you in ascending order the price of the tickets of different places from your place. So that you can decide where to go. Isn’t it amazing.
- Kayak– It is unbelievable. It will compare the prices on 100’s of travel websites at once. .
- Air Asia– If you are travelling within Asia then it is the best.
- Make My Trip– For travelling in India , it is the best.
- ITA Matrix– Powered by Google.
Also looked for particular airline website before booking the ticket.
Follow your favorite airlines on social media.
Subscribed to their newsletters.
If you are a frequent flyer then booked the tickets through travel credit cards , point get added every time you booked the tickets and by redeeming those points you can travel for free.
