Hyderabad: City Introduction
Hyderabad it is. Yup, I was in Hyderabad last weekend. After a long time I travelled to some place in India. It was all totally new to me. I was not concerned because I love to see the station where I have never been to. I left my home without any expectation and came home happily.
Hyderabad- the name itself is a mystery. I heard many stories and all were different from each other.
It’s not like any other city of India. It is totally different. On one side the Old city and along the other side, it’s the New city. The old urban center is still old and you cannot make out that you are in the 21st century. But new city is altogether a different universe. Also, called as the City of Pearls and is home to many upscale restaurants and shops.
So let’s examine the urban center:
1) Where to stay
Location is the most important. Then stick close to Hussain Sagar lake i.e. Banjara Hills. Everything is at an equidistant from this region. The Even old city is easily approachable. Shopping, Restaurants, Malls, Attractions etc…
2) Where to Eat
In order to get the local essence, you must eat at a place where local peoples do. The following restaurants you should not miss: Bawarchi, De Thali, Paradise and Anand Bhavan near to Char Minar. Here food is spicy but it’s yummy.
3) What to see
There is a lot to do in the city. But it is too hot. Hussain Sagar Lake, Lumbini Park, Birla Mandir, NTR Memorial and Garden, Ramoji Film City, Golconda Fort, Char Minar etc.….
4) Local Transport
The city is not well connected by the local transport but still it’s under construction. After completion of this metro rail, the metropolis will be easily accessible. Now you have opted to take Auto, Buses, Ola and Uber.
5) People
People here are nice. Really helpful and honest hearted. I have my reasons to say that. I didn’t face any trouble while travelling in the metropolis. People were not looking frustrated like in other city of India specially Kolkata.
6) The city is famous for
The urban centre is noted for two things: Biryani and Karachi Bakery. Biryani is said to be born out of Hyderabad. Wherever you go you will get Biryani and each and every place it is delicious. Whoever paid a visit to Hyderabad, the visit to the bakery is indispensable. You will get lots of varieties of biscuits and other items.
Thus all together, it was a mind blowing experience. Everyone should visit Hyderabad once in a life time. It was really worth to spend a weekend in a city where you will see Culture on one side and development on the other side.
Stay tuned for more updates on my trip to Hyderabad.
