Goa is well connected by Air, Rail and Road. It’s only 500 kms from Bangalore, 600 kms from Mumbai and 460 kms from Pune. You can get connecting flights from almost each and every place. Also from some cities you will get direct flights to Goa.

Airport

Goa has only one airport, Dabolim Airport also known as Goa International Airport.

Railway station

Goa has 3 major station: Vasco da Gama (VSG), Madgaon (MAO), Canacona (CNO).

From Bangalore, Mumbai/ Pune to Goa

Please don’t take flights otherwise you will be going to lose that day. Full day will be wasted in traveling. But if you have a spare day in hand then it’s better to go by flight. This is because the journey will be memorable from Airport to your destination. But one thing you should keep in mind there are very less buses from Panjim to beaches. And last bus is around 7pm.

Volvo buses are running continuously from the above 3 major cities. Tell the driver to drop you either at Mapusa or Panaji.

From Airport to Beach

Airport to Vagator

It’s really costly to go to beach from Airport if you will hire a Cab. It will be around 1200 INR (20 USD). So it’s better to use local transport. It will take you around 3 hours but the journey will be amazing.

As you come out of the Airport, take right and go straight down from the bridge and turn left you will get the bus to Vasco. Fare is around Rs 8/-. From Vasco ask anybody for a bus to Panaji/Panjim. Fare is around Rs 30/-. From Panjim the Route divides. If you want to go to Vagator/Calangute Beach then your next destination will be Mapusa. Fare is Rs.15 and from Mapusa you will get a bus directly for Vagator or Anjuna, fare will be Rs. 14. Vagator beach is around 40 kms from Airport.
