Finally, I got a US Visa. So I would like to share the info. I have confronted many problems while applying for the Visa, so with this article I want to assist those people who desire to apply for a Visa.
US Visa Process
Please ensure the passport validity and ensure that there are sufficient number of blank sheets.
1. As a first step, please fill in the DS-160 by using the link appended.

2. Create a profile in the following link – as you will be doing first time, you need to click – new user – and the menu will take you through step by step wherein you will be asked to fill in your details, passport details, DS 160 details, etc.

3. Upon filling in the details, the system will take you to the payment options where in you will have the option to make payment by any of the following options as per your convenience –
National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) * New
Mobile Payments – IMPS * New
Cash – Over the Counter at DRUK Bank
Cash – Over the Counter (AXIS Bank and Citibank)
4. Upon making payment, you will receive the payment confirmation from the Visa service desk stating that MRV (machine readable visa) fee has been activated.
5. Now please schedule your appointment for Biometric and Personal Interview at the below location.
Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad
6. Reach 15 minutes earlier of your appointment time.
Documentation
For making payment over the counter
Advice slip is required which will be generated when you will be on payment page. Save this and take a print out of it.
For Biometric
· Payment Receipt from bank
· Appointment confirmation
· DS- 160 Confirmation Page
· Passport
For Personal Interview
It’s very important so you have to be little cautious.

· Other common documents like Air Tickets, Hotel bookings, Income Statement, 6 months Bank Statement etc. (Not specified but recommended)
Questions and Answer
1) DS- 160 once filed can be edited?
· Yes, one has to file another DS-160 with the same confirmation number by logging into your account. One cannot edit the form once submitted.
· Even you have paid US Visa fees and demanded the appointment still it can be done, but before the date of Biometric.
· So when you are going for Biometric take both the DS-160 confirmation page and tell the officer that this is the old and this is the new one. So he will process your application with the new one.
2) What the Visa officer looks forward to grant the Visa?
· He wants to satisfy himself with the reason of you going to US.
· He will ask you all the personal questions like What you do; How much you earn; About your parents; Where you are going in the US; You are going to see somebody there or not; Who is sponsoring your trip; If you are working then leave approval letter is required and many more.
· Carry all the documents with which you can satisfy the Visa officer in every regard.
· If he is fine then immediately he will tell: You are through to the process and will keep your passport and if he is not, then he will tell: Sorry you didn’t get to it this time and will pass your passport back.
· Besides, he will examine your passport for the other visas, so it is preferable to go to other lands and then apply for US Visa. And if you hold a Schengen Visa then chances are more.
· Don’t speak much and be confident with your answers.
