From Housewife to a Professional Boulanger -Story of Mrs. Ruchika Aggarwal

Introduction
It’s never late in finding your element. There is abundant evidence that opportunities to discover our Element exist more frequently in our lives than many might believe. It’s just that, we need to grab the opportunity. Perhaps you didn’t have the confidence to follow the passion earlier, and now believe that the moment is gone, not true. We just need to listen to our heart and do what we love to do.
This is the story of Mrs. Ruchika Aggarwal from New Delhi, Owner of “Cuteats Kitchen” (A Home Bakery, specializes in cakes, cupcakes and brownies with sugar, out of which crafted cakes being the most popular among customers). She said-“The warm vanilla makes me nostalgic as it always reminds me of my childhood days when I used to bake cakes with my mother using her age-old recipes. Till date I use those recipes to make perfect cakes.”
Sugar Crafted Cakes
Sugar crafting is the best way to decorate cakes. It can be molded into flowers, figurines and can be used to make any theme possible. Originating in England, this medium of decorating soon spread to other parts of the world. With its advent, marzipan and royal icing took a back seat as this is easier to handle and suitable in almost all weather conditions.
Birth of Cuteats Kitchen
As a child, Ruchika loved to bake cakes. It was her favorite pastime. With the encouragement of her husband, Ruchika took her hobby to the next level and thus Cuteats Kitchen was born. She started with small cakes which gradually gave way to big ones. “The sugar crafted theme based cakes are the most interesting to make as I have to use all my creative abilities to make one of them.”
Why “Cuteats Kitchen”??
It was her friends grandson party for which she had fixed some sugar crafted bunny and fairy cupcakes. The little cakes were adores by all children present there. “I received lots of praises for my efforts and the only word that echoed in my mind after the party was “cute”. Thus, we coined the most appropriate name, “Cuteats” from cute-eats.”
Journey so far
For the past 2 years I and my team have put in all our passion into our sweat treats. I would like my bakery to climb the steps of success, but only to the level where I am always able to give personal attention to each and every order.
My journey as a baker has continued slowly as I kept experimenting with new recipes and flavors and perfecting my icing skills. Soon, I started fixing up a cake for every occasion and supplying some to friends and relatives as well. It was a difficult tread uphill, where every input from friends was welcome.
For Love or Money
My profession as a baker started off as a hobby and will always remain one for me. Money surely acts as an incentive, but the smiles and positive feedback from the customers is the biggest driving force. Every cake from my kitchen is special. Each one is unique in terms of design, color, concept and taste. I find immense pleasure in discussing all the nitty-gritty’ s of the cake with my customers. Then I painstakingly replicate these ideas into delectable cakes. The smile on the customers’ faces when they come to take their cakes is the biggest reward for me.
Conclusion
We all know that people who feel locked into their lives they sincerely wish they could do something more meaningful but at the age of thirty five or forty, they feel that the opportunity has passed. Thus, the above story of Ruchika will inspire you to take a step forward in following your passion and will tell you “It’s never late”.
