EU Covid 19 Passport- Are you Eligible to Travel to Europe?

1) What is EU Covid 19 Passport?
It’s a Vaccine Passport/ Certificate, which will be issued to all travelers who are looking forward to Travel to the EU. It can be issued in both Paper and Digital Format. Depending on the traveler’s status, there are three types of EU’s COVID-19 passport launched.
- Vaccination passport
- Test certificate
- Recovery certificate
2) Which Vaccines are currently eligible for the EU Covid 19 Passport?
The EU Covid 19 Vaccination Passport will be issued to those who are vaccinated with the below Vaccine as approved by the EMA:
- Comirnaty (BioNTech, Pfizer)
- Moderna
- Vaxzevria (previously COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca, Oxford)
- Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)
Indian Covishield has been Excluded by EMA from the above list
3) Travelers who are vaccinated with vaccines other than those approved by EMA, eligible to get this Vaccinated Passport?
EU Commission has permitted, but the decision is with each individual member state if they want to permit entry for those who are vaccinated with other vaccines.
4)How long this Document will be needed to travel to the EU?
This will be needed starting from 1st July’21 to 30th June’22.
If needed, the scheme may run for a longer period than one year.
5) Travelers who are vaccinated before July, are they eligible for this certificate?
Yes, provided they have been vaccinated with the vaccine approved by the EMA.
6) I am from Non EU Nation and vaccinated with vaccine other than approved my EMA, Am I eligible to travel to EU for next one year?
If you are a Non EU Citizen- You cannot,
If you are an EU Citizen- You can
7) I am from Non EU Nation and vaccinated in my country with vaccine as approved by EMA, still I will need an EU Vaccinated passport to Travel to EU?
Not required as EU Commission also intends to accept certificates issued in other countries. However, member states can issue EU Covid Travel Certificates to travelers who are willing to enter their territory.
8) I work in the EU, but I am not an EU Citizen- Am I eligible to obtain this Certificate?
Yes, there will be no difference in treatment of Citizens and non EU Citizens for the purpose of the certificate.
9) Where Can I Obtain My EU Vaccine Passport?
Every EU citizen can obtain the certificate in the country where they have received the vaccine.
For others, they should apply for such document through their destination member state.
10) What info will the document contain?
Full Name, DOB, Member state issuing certificate and QR Code
11) How much will it cost to obtain Vaccination Passport?
It will be free of cost. All costs will be borne by the issuing member state
