Amazing People I met while traveling through Indonesia

Truly Said: Travel is not only about seeing new places, it’s also about the people we met

It was an amazing experience traveling through Indonesia. I travelled to Bali, Gili and Jakarta. In Gili people were very much adorable and they talk to each other by calling them brother. It’s a very frinedly enviorment and was feeling more secure than I am at my parents home. Even the girls were walking alone at midnight and also early morning, but nobody was passing any lewd comments or doing something. People were so good in Gili. I have never anticipated that I will meet so many Influential people, which has converted my life completely. So today’s discussion is close to these masses:

• Harry

I met him at a Diving School. He was our head instructor. His story goes like this- Born and brought up in France. He is a political science graduate, was kneading with one of the fortune 500 companies. Only he wants to dive for his whole life. So four years ago he quit his job and came to Thailand- Koh Tao. Become an instructor and was steering the school for 2 years and now from last 2 years he is in Gili Air. He is very humorous and very kind also.

 

• Mike

I saw him at the same diving school. He was during his probation period and was on the brink of getting a professional teacher. But now a few weeks ago I got to know that he completed his training and now he is a certified diving instructor. His story goes like this- A German by birth, wanted to dive all his life. Then after graduating left everything behind and come to Thailand- Koh Tao. He took diving lessons for 2 years and from last 6 months he was in Gili Air getting trained under Harry. And now he has planned to go to Cambodia. He was very innocent and the best part he was very down to earth and very much friendly.

 

• Erin Mam

You must have heard the story many times- They sold everything just to travel. They desired to inhabit the life as they want. Their life looks very cool from outside, but from inside, they are likewise the same human being who are struggling to live how they desire.

 

Three and a half years ago one couple from Canada came to this Island on their Honeymoon and they liked it so much that they decided to subsist here. Husband was into an Insurance Business. So they both sold everything what they have and came to Gili just to live the life how they want. Their life is looking like a fairy-tale, but they also went through a lot of struggle and bad times. But right away every night for them is like a party. There were times when they almost went bankrupt but still they never lose hope and continue to do what they were serving. Today they have a resort in Gili Air. And whenever there is an affair or party they both contain a good upkeep of all the nodes.

 

• Aayu and Nunuk

This pair were the first Hindus we met in Bali. We met them in our resort at Gili. They were sharing the room beside our room. They both were in a relationship from last 7 years. Yes, I was taken aback to hear that. The young lady was really sound and she was acting as a director at a Restaurant in Abu Dhabi. She is delivering a big knowledge about everything in the menu from food to beverages. And this guy was the son of king of one of the state in Indonesia. He is also a freelance photographer. He was really lazy, careless, disinterested and doesn’t own any business acumen, but Aayu was very well-informed, she understands things and was very dynamic. She genuinely loves him and assume him as what he is. It is a story of true love.

 

• Nuke

I still remember that day in Jakarta, when we saw each other we hug each other and was so happy that we finally met. It was an amazing feeling meeting someone with whom you were connected online from last three years. We were not eating anything and was only blabbing to each other. We were then into each other that everybody was teasing us. It was a pure friendship that we were carrying along from last 3 years. Thanks Nuke for being in that location. Besides, she induces a dream to Quit the job and travel like me. I wish that she can do it soon.

• Ari

We met through Facebook and she was the first person I knew in Bali. But till then I never knew anything about her. Finally, we met in Bali. She was our Guide for one day. She knew a lot about the place. Slowly and gradually we started interacting. Then and only I got to know that she is in College. She learned Digital Marketing and now she started working with this company on a full time basis. I asked her- When you go to college?? She replied-“I go to college in Evening”. So she works in the morning and study at night. Also, she lives alone in Bali because she wants to work as well as study.  She really inspired me to do what you want and never say- I don’t have time.

 

 

• Martini

I met her while going to Gili from Bali. She owns a small café called Martini Restaurant just beside the Padang Bai ferry station in Bali. She herself cooks the food and she is really adept at it. The food is delightful as well as inexpensive. We were making fun of cha-cha, and she becomes so emotional that she was feeling sad for cha-cha. At one point of time she started crying also. She was a very loving and caring woman. Besides, she made an offer to chacha to stay with her. She didn’t know us, but even so she felt Chacha’s sadness behind his happy expression. We misplaced our luggage on Ship and she was saying sorry on behalf of all the citizenry. As well, she sang some Bollywood songs for us. She inspired me a lot to become a better person.
