4 half Marathon in the 4 Corners of India
by
I have completed all half marathon within suitable time. It was like a routine for me to run morning and evening. I ran continuously for 30 mins. I was used to it because I have to do. The more you run, the more you will be confident when you are running a race.
I’ve had it running since February 2014. It was like meditation for me. I feel relaxed after running for a couple of kms. The day I went running I was not sure and never ever think of that I could run a half Marathon constitute of 21.097 kilometers. I never knew the techniques of hunting. Besides, I was not knowing what to consume and what not to feed. But notwithstanding I gained it.
Let’s begin the Journey….
19th Oct, 2014: Bangalore Half Marathon
It was my first half Marathon and I took more than 2hr 37 mins to complete it. It was the best experience running in Bangalore with the real runners. Bangalore is also called The Running capital of India”. Surprised, huh!! Yeah the name given only after this Marathon. It was the first Marathon held at Bangalore. Also, Bangalore has the largest no of running groups in India. I was aware of the roads and the track was familiar to me so it was not that difficult. I realized many people virtually all age groups running side by side. The slogan was: “If you won’t stop you won’t”.
23rd Nov, 2014: Airtel Delhi Half Marathon
This was the toughest one for me as I was not used to run in such a cold weather. Yes, it was 10 degrees C. Every bit I reached Delhi I got a cough and cold. It really was cold. After taking medicine only I was able to run and complete the race in 2hr 28 mins. I was very glad that I have completed the race and that to 10 mins earlier than Bangalore. The track was good. It was the best crowd till date I have seen in Delhi. Delhiites really amazed me. I have never thought and ever heard of that in Delhi also people are fond of running. The course was the best part and hats off to the transcriptions made by Airtel for runners. The slogan was: “You take care of run, we will take care of you.”
28th Dec, 2014: Tata Steel 25K
I was very confident of running in Kolkata. This was the city where I was born and brought up. I was very comfortable with the conditions. But one thing that was passing in my mind: Who will endure in a marathon? In my 23 years in Kolkata I have not picked up any running enthusiast as in Bengaluru. Nearly 99 out of 100 people ask me: How you will run 25kms? Are you really serious!! Masses here are so lazy that they cannot think too that one can run 25kms. I feel pity for this crowd. Kolkata Marathon was the toughest marathon to go. Why?? Lack of supporters, less runners, no toilet booths, less volunteers and local people really misbehaved at some stage it was like I was working alone along a road full of traffic. It was really difficult running in such an environment. But yet I finished the run in 2hr 39 minutes.
18th Jan, 2015: SCMM 21.097kms
This was the one which precedes me to the above 3 marathons. I have only dreamed of running in Mumbai. But see now I have become a marathon runner. I completed the Mumbai Half Marathon in 2 hrs 19mins. This was by far the best of all. I have targeted for 2 hrs but somehow, somewhere could not able to make it. I don’t want to make any excuses. What I have recalled about this event, it was far more beyond my vision. It was the best and it merited to be the best of all. Almost 40k people participated in Mumbai Marathon. Everything was the best about this Marathon. Whether u see the crowd, local people, arrangements, running track etc. Everything was just superb. It was a “Life me Ek Baar experience”.
I hope to stay on this for many number of years.
