How to choose a Rucksack??
by
Rucksacks are available in many sizes each having different purpose and different design. So I will tell you about the important considerations to make while buying a Rucksack. Hope this will be useful for all.
Capacity
This is the most important factor to be considered in choosing a Rucksack. Actually the capacity is measured in terms of litres. So it depends for how many days you are going on a holiday. It comes in different capacities ranging from 35 litres up to 70 litres. Like if you are going for 20 or more days than 70 litres is what you required.
Top Loading or Front Loading Pack
Yet another material factor. I will say this is the most important. I have top loading – its fine for me but the main problem is that if you want something and it is kept down then you have to take out your full stuff then only you can get that. Also, your clothes will be a total mess. But for travelers it didn’t matter. I will suggest front loading because it’s easy to use and pack.
Compartments and side pockets
This is indispensable feature to keep in mind when buying a Rucksack. I am really happy that my Rucksack contains enormous no of compartments and also side pockets. These are really important and useful also. You will get to know when you will experience it.
Also, buy the Rucksack which has a Laptop compartment (if you want to carry one) otherwise you will end up carrying a backpack.
Back Support
In my Rucksack I have an Aluminum Stays. It is very useful. It will help to support the Rucksack and keep it straight and balance on your back.
Integrated Rain Cover
This will protect your stuffs and also Rucksack, so that you don’t have to stop even if it rains.
Back and Chest strap
Adjustable straps are generally recommended. It helps to keep the pack secured and also help to distribute some of the weight of the pack. Generally in large rucksack you can adjust the height of the strap. It is utmost needed. Don’t buy if it doesn’t have adjustable straps.
Other’s
Sleeping bag compatibility, Shoulder adjustment, torso adjustments, Walking stick and Ice Axe Loops.
If I have missed anything- Suggestions are welcome 🙂
